What do you get if you take a 5-window '34 Ford, remove excess baggage like fenders then shoehorn a dual-quad, blown huffer between the rails? You get lots of fun, that's what! Those flames on jet black paint tell it all. This beautiful example of what a street rod is all about belongs to Dave Anderson of Galway, NY. Dave and is car was our celebrity pick at the Burlington, VT, NSRA event in '99. Great car, great people, great event, too, in case you haven't made it to Burlington.

This neat ride is a '57 Pontiac StarChief Safari, the daily driver of Brian Watson from Concord, CA. Brian says that it is one of only 1847 made by Pontiac, but with the list of mod's you can be sure that it is one-of-a-kind. It has 350/350 Chevy power, a 12 bolt rear end, Dakota Digital dash and door kits, a Caddy tilt column and... a Watson's StreetWorks Hood Latch, just to name a few items.

Chris Barry of Allentown, PA, sent us these shots of his mighty-fine '48 Chevy 2-door along with some nice words. "I am writing to say thanks. You have been a great help to me with your time and products. I have many of your parts in my car, from the door solenoids and Gemini remote control to your power cowl vent, interior lights, the red LED that flashes in my console... and the trick switch plate you made for me." Chris also scoots around with 350 Chevy power, squirted by tuned port injection. A great example of the many fine machines owned by members of the Over The Hill Gang of Pennsylvania.

We didn't get much information on this cool custom convertible from Wayne & Nancy Frankhauser of Bourbonnais, IL. It looks to have been shaved, smoothed and dropped, with lots of custom work to the front end, specifically to the grill and headlights. The changes not withstanding, I think it's a '46. And don't miss the next project back in the garage.

Thought that we would throw in this photo of a custom switch panel that we built into a customers dash / gauge cluster. See how well the aluminum switch panel and metallic switches blend with the insert. This isn't the type of work that we usually do, but it shows how great our switch units look.

Tom Gettys out of Dover, PA, sent us this shot of his River Rat Express. This bright red "C" cab has a bunch of our wiring goodies to get the electrons flowing.

These two shots are of the (nearly) world famous Wild Turkey Delivery. Dale & Elvis Grau currently park the Wild Turkey in Rice, MN, although these shots are from Connecticut and Oklahoma City. The Turkey and the Grau's gets around! A big block pushes this cool green '46 to many events every year. We understand there are some modifications going on at the moment...but that sounds like street Roding. Great car, great people, say "hi" when you see them.

This photo shows one of our L14SO Shift Indicator plates installed by Leonard Gregory of Winston-Salem, NC. Leonard tells us that he inlaid the indicator into his birds eye maple dash and didn't even need any glue to hold it in place.

A couple of beauties from the collection of Mary & Tom Higgins of Sparta, NC. The first is a bright red '31 Chevy 5-passenger. They fit a 350, 300 horse small block under that tiny hood and still had room for power brakes, steering, windows and a tilt wheel for easy entry. The wire wheels add the right touch for this classy classic.

The second Higgins steed is a two-tone '36 Chevy Master Deluxe 2-dr. Its 327, 300 horse small block pushes this great ride to many, many events. Tom & Mary are two more of the finest people that you could ever meet. So if you get the chance to see them, say hello and tell them that they are internet Celebrities.

We first met Ken Krynak and his Mopar, "PROPAR" on a Popular Hot Rodding run that was headed to Maple Groove Drag Strip via Ida Automotive in Jersey. His very potent Demon ran like a freeway cruiser all the way, even though it has no trouble chirpin' those big meats in every gear. Ken installed our Fiber Optic Indicator Lights in his dash so as to be inconspicuous and still give him the information a good driver needs.

I swear to you, it wasn't two hours ago that I thought about my old '55 F-100 that I had to sell about 5 years ago...got a real case of missing-that-old-truck blues. Now I'm inputting some of these photos and here is John & Edna Lunn's gorgeous '53. When they got the truck, they "were plagued with electrical gremlins" but thanks to a new Power Plus 12 System it "brought our F-100 to life once again". That's a major reason that we here at Watson's StreetWorks are in business. We love to be able to help people to solve problems so they can get back behind the wheel of neat vehicles like this '53. John also wrote, "...you were good enough to take time to give me very helpful advice regarding finding the source of a dead short problem I have in my '53 F-100. You didn't have to do that however I have to say I was very impressed and more so, very thankful... your Basic Auto Electricity Book has been invaluable. Simple and to the point, it will make my rewiring job much easier than I anticipated. Again, thanks for your help." John, you are very welcome, and thank you.

StreetWorks parts get used in more than street rods. This trike is owned by Dave Lutz and runs around Lancaster, PA. Dave is into many kinds of rides and seems to find some of our parts to use on each of them.

And speaking of many kinds of rides...how about a '48 Studebaker golf cart? John Myers of Hanna City, IL, added brake lights and turn signals from StreetWorks to make his Studecart safer. And to cover up a "nasty looking" hole in the dash, John used one of our column trim pieces. One problem that John ran into was having LED lights burn out. These carts do not have properly regulated voltage and LED's are sensitive to that. So if you have a similar project in mind, or if you are having recurrent LED burnout on your vehicle, check that voltage.

John Olsen of Florida showed us his Beetle "before surgery". But we haven't seen it done yet. The last we heard he had found a rare oval rear window doner and had started cutting and pasting enroute to his "Chopped Yellow" project.

To give you an idea of what can be accomplished by cutting and pasting, here is a little project that Mel Phipps and his crew in Gilroy, CA, did for Byron Bertsch. This is a '48 Ford COE (cab-over-engine) stuffed with 460 cubes of big-block Ford and sporting a custom, pickup style bed complete with embossed Ford scripts logo. From StreetWorks, it has a timed, self-canceling turn signal kit and LED indicators. These cab overs are really getting to be more popular. There must be a hidden stock of them somewhere! I tried to get my hands on one here in Connecticut but the guy wasn't giving it up.

Joe and Janet Rossi cruise the streets of Doylestown, PA, in this sweet little '40 Chevy coupe. It's clean, straight and lots of fun, I'm sure. But on those warm days in Doylestown when you need a little fresh air, just push a button. "The power cowl vent kit that I purchased...was easy to install and works great. You can also adjust the height. Thank you StreetWorks for selling this great product." Well thank you, Joe and Janet. We are just trying to give people the parts and service that they want and deserve. And thank you for proudly displaying your NSRA sticker.

Look, Ma! No handles! That's right. It's a Jeep. '87 to be exact. And Tom Smith of Santa Barbara, CA, knows that shaved handles are neat. "Thanks Steve & Carol. The solenoids are working great. I enjoy hearing the solid 'thud" when it operates." Of course, shaving the handles is a visual thing - the clean, smooth look. But it also adds an extra level of security, too. Not to mention the reduced air drag, giving higher fuel economy and reduced E.T. (O.K. I got a little carried away with those last two items. But shaved is where it's at!)

Joe Spairana of Wynantskill, NY, sent us this photo of his hot rod 3-window as well as some good words. "Steve & Carol -  Just a shot of my coupe using some of your parts. You might call your stuff the finishing-up-stuff or whatever, but it's quality and it works. All the little odds and ends are a pain! but not with your parts. Again, they work! Also I must say thanks for the tech help when I called and I was using someone else's parts! You guys are OK!" Joe has experienced the StreetWorks difference. We trouble shoot more problems with other peoples stuff than with our own products. Quite a change from the companies who won't even answer questions about their own parts. Why do we do that? Because we were "customers" before we were business owners...we know how we would like to be treated, and we try to give that to our customers. Obviously, it shows and we're glad!

Wow! Check our own "Chief" on the cover of Street Scene Magazine. The Chief is a '40 Pontiac, 2-door sedan that has been dropped 3-1/2", chopped 5-1/4", shaved (yes with StreetWorks Solenoids and our MagTech entry system). It runs very well thank you on a 350 Poncho Power through a 350TH and a 10-bolt rearend. With the wider track (even back in 1940) and long wheel base, The Chief just loves to run down the freeway. And with its lowered lid, topped with a marine canvas simulated Carson top, it slices through the air. (Can you tell that we still love that car after 20 years!?!?) This shot was taken at the Burlington NSRA meet on one of the many sunny days that that event has had the pleasure of receiving - even if a few of those were rather cool. We've said it before and it is worth saying again - Burlington can be cool toward the end of September but it is one of the best, lay-back event with the nicest people and the greatest scenery that you could ever want to attend.

This second shot shows the StreetWorks fleet - truck, trailer and The Chief. The truck is still going strong. The trailer has been replaced with a larger one. And the Chief has to stay at home due to lack of space in the new larger trailer! That's progress!

This little powder-blue beauty is owned by Tom Stamatson out of Alton Bay, New Hampshire, now in Kansas City??? Tom was running a 383 small block at this time with promises of fitting a 406 and a 700R4 into the "Mighty Mouse". Check out the prefect stance, subtle lines and classic beauty that makes a '32 (and especially this '32) a car to admire. 70 years old and going strong...er!

Jeff Volker in Harrison City, PA. has this neat little custom GMC truck. You can see lots of the work that Jeff has put into this great ride. What you can't see are the StreetWorks Solenoids that unlatch the doors. "(They) are the best thing I've found to open the doors on my truck, " Jeff told us.

And just how many Lincolns do you run into every day? Hal & Pat Wolf must put a lot of miles on their "Baby". It chopped 3", runs Chevy power through a 12" rear and has a Nova sub-frame. Hal tells us, "To my knowledge these are the only solenoids the work on '49 doors. If you see them around White Pigeon, Michigan, say HI".

This tail-draggin' '50 Merc can't make up its mid whether to park in Nesconset, NY, or Boynton Beach, FL. Ron House just keeps it guessing. Ron got his Power Plus 16 wiring kit from us as well as his brake switch, ignition switch, remote control, you get the idea. Now we happen to know that this photo wasn't taken in NY or FLA. Unless Universal Studios has created a southern James Dean grave yard tombstone movie site - at least I hope not. I grew up with, and learned to drive on a '49, so This looks like an excellent ride to me.

Another excellent ride is this '60 Chevy rag top run by Anthony & Sandra Liberto out of Dover, DE. Doesn't that yellow just grab you? Especially with the blue interior and engine - boy, is it clean under that hood! You can't really see them, but Tony used a pair of our Hot Slot LED Taillights to build that one-off rear end treatment. "As promised i am sending you a picture of my 60 Chevy with the Hot Slot taillights kits #L58. These really look and work great. I have been experimenting with several others but always there were dead spots or they were not as bright as they should be. Yours are the answer to the Street Rodder of today!"  Thanks for the kind words. We do our best to listen to our customers - what they tell us is right and what they tell us is wrong will end up as next years better new product. and if we are lucky, it might even be next years best new product.

And just so you don't get the idea that street rods are the only vehicles that can use StreetWorks parts...here is the '98 Suzuki Marauder owned by Walter Banas of Montville, Connecticut. With 805cc of V-twin power, we can't even imaging the kick if Walter goes ahead with the nitrous addition he has been considering. To help in the comfort department, he has added Kuryakyn Isogrips and Jardine pegs. And for those few times he slows down, there is a Brake Light Pulsator from StreetWorks to make sure the guy behind him gets the message.

Lets check out this bright yellow Beetle being done by Mark Manning of New Zealand. It's hard to see in the front view but he has added a neat eyebrow over the windshield and, of course, there has been lots of smoothing. Mark wisely opted to install one of our VW Modular Wiring Kits to provide the electrical juice for his hot project.

If you are a StreetWorks customer and would like to see your ride featured here on our site, just send us a good photo(s) with some description and we will do our best to add it. Just realize that these things take time, so don't be in a rush.
